Penn A-1 creeping bentgrass has been proven to take wear without tufting while withstanding spiked shoes in wear tests on putting green grass. This turf also survives the winter well, particularly in humid coastal areas.
Produced by Oregons top growers, Tee-2-Green
bentgrasses far exceed the standards of general certified
seed. Our seed is free of Poa-annua, Poa trivialis, and
all other noxious and unacceptable weed seeds.
Penn A-1 features a very high density, superior disease
resistance and has proven adaptable to various growing
conditions and management practices. Able to compete
succesfully against Poa-annua, it prefers to be kept on the
dry and lean side, thereby reducing management costs.
Some benefits of A-1 include:
- Very dark green color
- Fine leaf texture
- Outstanding heat, cold and wear tolerance
- Good winter color
- Quick spring green-up
Recommended seeding rate is 1.0 to 1.50 lbs./1,000
sq. ft. for new plantings and 0.1 to 0.25 lbs./1,000
sq. ft. for interseeding
