DIRECTIONS FOR USE
BRANDT DEFOAMER is a high quality silicone based anti-foaming
agent designed to prevent foam formation or defeat existing
foams in pesticide spray solutions. Excessive foaming can promote
inefficiency in spray activities. It may be used on agricultural,
forestry, turf and ornamental, industrial, structural and noncropland sites.
Read and follow the precautions, restrictions and recommendations
on the labels of pesticides used with this product. Use according to
the most restrictive label directions for each product in any tank mix.
COMPATIBILITY: BRANDT DEFOAMER is compatible with most
pesticides. However, if the desired combination has not been
previously used, a compatibility test is recommended.
MIXING: Shake well before using. Fill spray tank 1/2 full of water
and begin agitation. Add product at agitation level with paddles
turning and then follow with other ingredients as directed by label
or in the following sequence and continue filling tank: (1) Dry
flowables or water dispersing granules, (2) Wettable powders, (3)
Flowables, (4) Solutions, (5) Emulsifiable concentrates. Alkaline
water promotes the degeneration of certain pesticides. Buffer
spray tank solution to a pH below 8.0. Continue agitation until
spray solution is completely mixed. If spray solution has been
allowed to stand, thoroughly agitate and remix before application.
RECOMMENDATIONS: The proper quantity to use will vary with
foaminess of spray chemicals, water chemistry, equipment
characteristic, method of application, etc. Also, rates of product
higher than those below may be used if necessary to reduce foam.
However, do not add this product at a rate which exceeds 5% of
the finished spray volume.
FOR DILUTE, FULL VOLUME SPRAYS:
As an Antifoaming Agent: Add 1-2 fl. oz. per 100 gallons of water
before foaming begins.
As a Defoaming Agent: If foam persists, an additional 1-2 fl. oz.
may be required.
